This reunion will
celebrate the 50th year of the Atlas F going on-line in 1962.

The reunion is
set to go on May 3 – 6, 2012. Our President and Board of Directors have done a
great job of putting the reunion together and we hope to see all of you in
Roswell. The theme of the reunion is the 50th Anniversary of the 579th
SMS being declared combat ready.
We have 55
rooms reserved at the Best Western Sally Port Inn for the 579th SMS.
All of the reserved rooms are on the 1st floor; some of the suites are on the 2nd
floor. You need to get your reservations in quickly to insure your choice is
made. All reservations are on a first come first served basis. The tours have
not been finalized, they will be done shortly and the itinerary and tour cost
will be sent out under separate correspondence.
We have
attached the Reunion Registration Form, and sent this email to all members with
email addresses on file. We have not sent out snail mail notices due to the cost
and workload involved. If you are in contact with members without email
addresses please call them and advise them of the reunion dates and times.
We need a
volunteer or volunteers to function as the official photographer for the event.
If you have a digital camera and are willing to take the official pictures for
the unit please let me know. The official pictures will include Banquet Pictures
of each member and their guest, various activity and tour pictures, and other
pictures of opportunity. If you are able to do this let me know what media your
camera uses and I will bring extra media for you to use. If anyone is going to
bring a notebook computer we can use to transfer the pictures to a USB drive it
will help to get them published, and sent to everybody and the 579th web site as
quickly as possible. Perhaps we can spread the photographer tasks between
several of us and not consume the time of one person. Let me know if you have
any ideas on this and if you are willing to do it.
